I think that even though Hillary got short-changed in the last election, I would like to see a newer, younger generation of Dems in the federal government with fresh ideas and perspectives.

Dean--

If you want to respond to my comments on posts so we can talk, that's fine but please don't put a label on me when you know nothing about me.

I am not a Trump supporter, that much is true. How do you know where I stand with Obama and Hillary? Am not I not allowed to like or dislike a President or Presidential candidate based on what I see instead of whether they are Republican or Democratic? Liberal or Conservative?

I like Ronald Reagan very much. To a degree, even Nixon, although I was only yet a young boy when he was in office.

No, I don't. Even though I voted for her in the last election, I belileve she has too much baggage now to run and succeed. The Dems need some younger blood and I believe that Nancy Pelosi is now doing more harm to the Democratic Party than help. The last couple of times I saw her, she seemed to be searching for cohesive statements and I found she missed most of the time.

I couldn't agree more Linn. I too voted for her when she was the candidate given to us to go up against Donald Trump. I would have voted for a toad over that guy. But yes, I am hoping for someone younger that has compassion for all citizens that just want to get by. I have to believe the pendulum is about to swing the other way. Feeding big corporations while smacking down the middle class should not bode well for anyone that really wants to substain a healthy economy.

I really don't believe that all three branches of government should be controlled by the same party. If Trump's economic policies turn out to cause a recession, I'd be interested to see if all those Trump supporters are still supporting him.

THIS is a very good point! We need a system of checks and balances so no party has too much power. So many times these votes happen along party lines, with seemingly little thought to the impact to the American people.

I cannot understand anyone that wants a country where wages go stagnant, while CEOs get richer. Even if unemployment has come down, I don't think the wages of the average worker has risen much. I know nothing is being done to cap the costs of private insurance.

Well, the unemployment rate went down to 3.9. And how do you think he's going to pay for all the items in the budget he wants after reducing taxes? At some point, the piper is going to have to be paid.

Maybe government should stay out of healthcare completely!

Your right about too much power.
Look at what Obama got away with! [With the help of left wing media.]
CEO's get rich because they are CEO's.
Wanna be rich? Become a CEO. Make the investment, take the risk.
Worker bees don't often get rich.
The insurance caps you yearn for were purposely left out of ACA - to force government, single payer.
Keep government out of health care.

My understanding of the final ACA bill was far from what the Dems wanted to accomplish. Of course I am leery of government controlled healthcare, but even MORE worried about many hard working class people that do not even have it offered at the company they work for. Less and less corporations are opting out because of the exorbitant costs. I know I have loved ones that are one illness or accident away from total bankruptcy. That cannot be good for our economy down the road.

I respectfully disagree with your view. I think both parties did their damage, but I never felt trickle down economics worked. If it did, every hard working American would have basic benefits which includes healthcare.
