It is funny how liberals say that they form their opinions based on the FACTS! The scientific FACT is their are only 2 genders. They are so hypocritical!

Those are pronoun options (there are others), not genders.

Not trying to be vulgar but here are my thoughts. There are only two genders/sexes. only two. If you have a penis. Then you are a boy or male. If you have a vagina. Then you are a girl or female. It's really not complicated. Trust me on this. I'm a RN..

Nope, no more so than hetersosexual is becoming out of hand. I mean, if one is hetersosexual one is hetersosexual. Yep. Heterosexual. No matter how much he may be raped, and forced to submit, and made to call one daddy, if he is truely heterosexual he will still love pussy.

C'mon, really? If someone were to shove baseball bats up my butt, and I somehow survived the ordeal I'd still love pussy just as much as I do now.

Sorry for the short answer, but I just don't understand why some people lose their mind about what others want to call themselves or identify as. If they want to call themselves a "Birdcage", that's fine as long as they don't get all pissy at what I call them

The problem is that it isnt limited to just what others want to call themselves. It affects everyone else--at least that is the plan on the part of the people pushing it.

How teachers address students, how children address each other, how govt forms are structured, how bathrooms are built and labeled, etc. The intent is for this to permeate everything and make it the new normal. But its not. There are two genders.

And when others dont confirm to the made up reality of these few, there is sure to be outrage, lawsuits, etc.

It doesn't affect how I refer to others. It's Canada

I;ve seen "Sky is falling" posts before. The anti-gay marriage crowd were running around, screaming that the we were all going to die, that the institution of marriage had crumbled, and that the end of civilization was at hand.

Trump isn;t paying attention to Healthcare & Pharma, Insurance companies & Wall Street are running rampant, We need public education and jobs.
Maybe a ****load of new genders will help spur the economy because someone will need to build and maintain those new rest rooms

"Maybe a ****load of new genders will help spur the economy because someone will need to build and maintain those new rest rooms"

At least its a positive outlook, and its only Canada.... for now.

I think you are right to a certain extent about it being a "sky is falling post", a sky is falling issue. The fact is, just as gay marriage, it is likely to have minimal effect on others and society at large (not including the off-case of a guy that might end up getting sued because he practiced a little old-fashioned chivalry and held a door open for a woman, or said "excuse me *MISS". you dropped your wallet")

But traditionalists are concerned about the creep of a slippery slope and cumulative effect of all of these issues that, taken by themselves are small. but collectively CAN make the sky fall.

In California, a law was passed that health care workers can be fined and/or jailed for failing to use the "preferred names and pronouns" of seniors.
And because that *will* continue to be pushed here, and yes, the push has begun on social media and college campuses. K-12 schools are also rushing to "teach" this. California has already mandated it. The first school I heard of doing so announced the course would begin that next fall, and when the parents asked to see the curriculum, the school admitted they had none and no idea where to get one. If you would have looked at the list I provided, you would see that there is *no possible way* to teach this without making it a required class every year because there simply is *no* definitive list as they are constantly growing and evolving...the 76+ gender list is INFINITELY FLUID. And EACH AND EVERY INDIVIDUAL gets to pick their own "preferred pronouns"...or make up new ones.

Look Jak, I don't give a FF what someone identifies as or what they call *themselves*, but when you start teaching this crap in schools; making it possible for person A to anonymously report that person B microagressed person C on college campuses - without person C's knowledge even or *knowing* that person C was even offended by what is, by definition, an *unintentional* slight; and you see laws being passed in other western and Anglosphere countries, and we have at least one here, etc....you begin to wonder just how long before someone brings a gender discrimination suit because you didn't call her "he", or, "ze", or "they" ("they" for an individual, wtf?), and how they are going to totally confuse children WHO SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO *BE* CHILDREN with those and with 76+ genders like: magical, fluid, snowy, swampy, doglike, unknowable, fractured, elusisive, ethereal, vanishing, blurry, undefinable, void, catlike, forestlike, fake, silent, layered, musical, obscure, nocturnal, symbolic, nonsensical, tangled, blanketed, the sum of all, round, dark, mystical, mutating, etc.

Look, I *get* that some people are attracted to the same sex, that some people don't feel comfortable as the sex they were born, and that some people simply do not feel comfortable as either a boy or a girl. I do. I get that. I even get that some people identify as strange things. What I do NOT get is how making **** up out of thin air and then demanding it be accepted, embraced, taught, and legislated fits into a "free" society.

As always...JMHO

Talk to BLOTUS. He does it all the time

"Look Jak, .....but when you start teaching this crap in schools; making it possible for person A to anonymously report that person B microagressed person C on college campuses..."

Boz, I respect your comments all the time, but I believe you going a bit hysterical here. Seriously.

Have we even proven their is a legitimate list?

As far as I am concerned, there are only 3 Genders, Male & Female & Hermophradite. When a guy or gal goes throught he whole process, get's themselves altered, then they are the sex they have been altered to, unless you are a true, biological hermophradite; born with both sex of sex organs.

PERIOD and end of discussion for me on that point.

"If you would have looked at the list I provided, "
I did and I'm not convinced that list is not parody.

I said it before and I;ll say it again..."they sky is not falling" and this is much ado about nothing. I was taught in a public shool system that was not stripped of funding or hampered by silly rules. I was given text books and paper. Purchased with my parents tax dollars. I Pledged to that goddamn flag every day. I don;t know what the hell the problem is, but I think everyone (Liberals and Conservatives) have their stupid heads up their stupid asses. Whining and bitching, pointing fingers. It's sickening.

This ****ry is regressing, not "PROGRESSING". The US cannot survive as a "fend for yourself" nation moving forward. Maybe back in the day when we has 1/1000th or less of the population.

So I sum yhe whole thing up directing the comment back the first portion of this reply and my smartass retort to you in regards to "Making things up".

The problem isn't Genders, it's extremes on both sides and these type of extreme hysterics from both side.

"Talk to BLOTUS. He does it all the time"

And gets called out on it daily.

"Boz, I respect your comments all the time, but I believe you going a bit hysterical here. Seriously."

Here are just two links to college bias response team reporting...more available via a simple internet search. As you'll see, if you care to look, people can indeed report incidents, including microagressions, they witness, and do so anonymously.

https://inclusive-excellence.utah.edu/report-form.php

https://studentaffairs.indiana.edu/dean-students/bias-incident/examples-of-bias.shtml

"Have we even proven their is a legitimate list?"

As I have now stated at least three times, there is *no* definitive list. Lists range from 3 to 71 options, 3 to 31 as far as various government lists.

I agree with you that there are three *sexes*. This is about gender, not sex.

I don't think the sky is falling, Jak. This conversation began by me simply pointing out the fact that this question was about gender, not sex. I again and have since responded to your replies to me. You want to argue, you know I'm game. Cut through the discussion and I think we agree that people can consider/call themselves whatever they want...but, as you so eloquently phrased it, "...that's fine as long as they don't get all pissy at what I call them". Yes?

Schools have changed since you and I went, Jak. They have. And no, you did not *have* to pledge allegiance per a 1943 SCOTUS decision.

The country is divided, and yes, there are extreme reactions from both sides that are over the top. *Each* of us has issues important to us, though, and focus on things others couldn't give a damn about if they tried, and vice-versa. Just sayin'.

I agree jak. The current backlash that is growing past just the Moral Right though is the push to not allow you to call.it what you want and for society to have to cater to how they choose to identify. It's getting to a little over board.

That said people focus on.it way too much from the other side as well.
It's so petty on both sides.

Really for me it isn't so much about the trans issue or gender identification issue as it is the societal push that no one has to ever suck it up and legislation is being built on "feels" in all facets. It's not the problem of gender pronouns, that's just a symptom. Me personally feel we are moving to legislate based on trivial comforts.

Me I don't really care except where bathrooms are concerned. I don't even care with bathrooms as long as they are single use bathrooms. I do have a problem when they are multiple use. A man should use a men's restroom. We've had cases in Washington where a man has been nude in a women's locker room because he ""identifies" as a woman.

Yeah, the way it's going language will basically be useless as nothing will have definition or meaning. It's headed towards the South Park episode with the Marklar.

"Look here Marklar. It is Marklar's and Marklar's Marklar are Marklar as much as Marklar's Marklar. So Marklar needs to cater to Marklar so Marklar can feel Marklar is the marklar Marklar wants to Marklar as.

No, it is not. There is *no* definitive list, however. LGBT sites each have there own list. In 2014, FB rolled out a list of somewhere between 58 and 71 options, I don't FB, but you can check that yourself.

Four countries, two states and DC recognize three. In their next census, England and Wales will be piloting a minimum of 14 options on some forms.

If so, they are still part of the "community" by how some people *within* measure it with the expanded acronym where one "a" stands for "allies". Hence but one reason I don't think all should be lumped together...but it's not my call.

"surrogates and supporters who mean well"

In reality, I believe there are fewer mover and shakers that can be pointed to. The masses of surrugates and supporters are pawns being used by the "higher ups" without realizing it. They are egged on and cajoled toward something that appeals to their emotions, but which has a greater impact for others. No doubt George Soros would take exception with that.

There is *no* definitive list. Four countries, two states, and DC recognize three. England and Wales are going to test a minimum of 14. NYC recognizes 31. FB has 71, plus a custom option, while Tinder only has 31. All include some catchall, such as "third", "non-binary", or "non-conforming", while pretty much everyone acknowledges that the list is growing and evolving, and it is clearly open to customization.

It's actually so ridiculous, it would be better to replace the word "business" with the word "scam" in the question.
It's not "getting" out of hand. It was out of hand as a result of the mere Progressive idea of it to begin with.
