If you could travel back in time, what advice would you grant your younger self with? Would you share about a significant event in their future to expect, or would you offer guidance and support to yourself, knowing one day you'll be where you want to be?
I personally would offer advice about fitting in, and being true to myself. I was always so unsure of who I was. Growing up I lived in a strict house, with many rules and I learned to respect and follow guidelines at a very young age. I was such a quiet student, so kept to myself that even the teachers in my Elementary school and highschool would question my parents, asking if I was ok outside of school.
I would give my young self advice, and remind myself it's okay to be who I am. Growing up in such a strict household, I never had friends over because of what I thought they'd say to other students at school about my home life. I wasn't ashamed, but I knew that other kids my age never experienced that stuff, and there wasn't really anyone who could relate to me, other than my sister.
I would also tell my younger self that it's perfectly alright if I don't fit in with any group or social gathering right now. I really didn't end up making good friends until later in highschool and college. I guess that is the point in my life when I began discovering myself more, and I tried to reach out to others and build good, strong friendships. :)
